Character
Wide planks guide wood across the floor in fewer, longer lines. That often feels calmer and more open than small-module coverings – without losing natural warmth.
Grain stays readable and touch stays warm. Together with generous formats you gain a floorscape that feels settled yet present – from single-family homes to high-quality apartments.

Wide planks show their strengths where daylight travels across the floor and long walls need calm: living areas, open plans and refined interiors in new builds and renovations alike.
Wide planks usually feel more open than classic parquet with a small-module grid. Classic parquet enables stronger patterns such as herringbone – both can be high quality. The right choice depends on species, grading, surface, format and use.
Orientation
Wider boards and calmer lines support a coherent, open floor image.
From calm to lively: grading and knot structure shape character and refinement.
Fewer joints and less rhythm than small-module floors – often pleasing in living zones.
Brushed, matt, natural or structured: the finish steers light and everyday feel.
Open, warm character with oil – or more closed surfaces with sealers, depending on use.
With the right build-up, surfaces can be maintained or refurbished later.

Wide planks are chosen through species, grading, surface finish and use – not decor alone. These criteria help you prepare before a showroom visit.
Oak is common but not mandatory. Grading and knot structure should harmonise with furniture, doors and the mood you want.
Natural, brushed or matt, plus oiled or sealed: the same wood can feel warmer, cooler or more textured depending on treatment.
Width, length and lay direction influence how open a room feels – aligned with light, furnishing and layout.
Corridors, living areas or commercial zones place different demands on surface and maintenance.
Screed, build height and transitions to tile, doors and neighbouring areas are clarified in planning – not on site.
With the right build-up, surfaces can often be maintained or refurbished. Scope depends on product and existing condition.
Colour shifts between rooms. In our Munich-Forstenried showroom we lay samples side by side and discuss finishes with you.

On site
Wide planks are best judged from samples: width, grading and finish read differently in real daylight than on screens. In our showroom you compare planks, species and surfaces calmly with expert guidance.

Service & existing floors
Not every project starts with new planks. When existing floors allow, refurbishment may be the better route – we assess build-up, condition and use and recommend the next step.
Before work starts we clarify subfloor, build height and transitions to tile, doors and neighbouring areas. That avoids level jumps later and protects the overall look.
Lay direction influences how the room reads and how light travels across the planks. We align this with plan, built-ins and the mood you want.
Installation is carried out by experienced master craftsmen – including considered skirting and trims where agreed. After completion you receive care notes suited to your finish.
We assess
Unsure whether new flooring or refurbishment? We review the existing floor and advise honestly.

Wide plank flooring uses broader wood boards that tend to create a calm, open floor image. Like other timber floors it is installed as a structural covering with a defined wear layer and appropriate fixing method – specifics depend on product and subfloor.
Oak is common and versatile but not the only option. Tone, grading, availability and which finishes are offered all matter. We explain alternatives objectively in consultation.
There is no universal winner: wide planks often feel calmer and more open, classic parquet can deliver stronger patterns such as herringbone. Both can be high quality – the choice depends on room effect, format and use.

Often yes, where build-up and wear layer allow – for example careful sanding followed by fresh oiling or sealing. Scope and how many cycles are feasible depend on product and condition; we assess this transparently on site or from reliable documentation.
